Welcome to Rubix Semi-Independent operates under the STEPS Framework – Safe Transition, Empowerment, Pathways & Support. This framework guides every aspect of our service delivery and ensures young people receive structured, consistent, and outcome-focused support as they move toward independent adulthood.

Rubix Semi-Independent is an additional service of Rubix Care, specifically designed for 18–25-year-olds who require structured support to transition successfully into independent living. Through the STEPS approach, we provide a balance of safe accommodation, personal development, and practical guidance that enables young people to build resilience, confidence, and long-term stability.

Emerging adulthood, the phase between 18 and 25, is a period filled with both potential and pitfalls. As young adults navigate this transformative stage, there are numerous challenges exacerbated by the complexities of our chaotic modern world. 

Our Approach to Care

The Four Pillars of STEPS

Our service delivery is built upon four core principles that guide every interaction with our young adults:

  • S – Safe Transition: We provide more than just accommodation; we provide a secure foundation. From 24/7 on-call support to comprehensive home safety guidance and health coordination, we ensure every young person feels stable and protected as they navigate change.
  • E – Empowerment: True independence comes from confidence. We coach young adults in the essential “bricks and mortar” of life—budgeting, tenancy management, domestic skills, and nutrition—encouraging them to take ownership of their choices and their future.
  • P – Pathways: We are bridge-builders. Our team actively supports young people in identifying and securing pathways into education, employment, and training (EET), while managing the administrative complexities of Housing Benefits and Universal Credit to ensure long-term stability.
  • S – Support: No one should feel isolated during their transition. Through dedicated keyworking and flexible outreach, we provide the emotional and practical guidance necessary to build resilience, maintain positive relationships, and integrate into the community.
