Rubix Care maintains a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our professional relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains.
Our Core Focus Areas
Safeguarding Our Residents: We recognise that children in our Children’s Homes (8–16) and young people in Supported and Semi-Independent living (17–25) are among the most vulnerable to grooming and exploitation. Our staff are specifically trained to identify the signs of Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE) and Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) as part of our rigorous safeguarding protocols
Safe Recruitment: We operate a robust recruitment process, including mandatory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, identity verification, and thorough reference checks for all staff and contractors to ensure the safety of those in our care.
Supplier Due Diligence: We expect the same high standards from all of our contractors, suppliers, and other business partners. Our procurement processes include requirements for suppliers to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Procedures for Reporting
We encourage a culture of transparency. Any employee, resident, or partner who has concerns about modern slavery or human trafficking within our services is encouraged to report it immediately through our Whistleblowing Policy or directly to our Safeguarding Lead.
Training and Awareness
To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery in our care pathways, we provide ongoing training to our staff, focusing on:
Identifying signs of coercion and control.
Reporting procedures for suspected trafficking.
Supporting young adults (18–25) to recognise exploitation in their own social and professional circles as they move towards independence.
